Sandy Hook’s Abandoned Military Bases
Continuing our newfound fascination with abandoned places, Paige and I made the trek out to the seaside preserve of Sandy Hook. Despite what we eventually discovered hidden crumbling away on the beach, Sandy Hook did not initially give any indication of being abandoned. As we crossed the bridge over to the narrow peninsula, the sky became blotted out by a parade of parachutes. Dozens of people were paragliding just off the shore, all looking like they’d desperately lost contr

Little Red Lighthouse
To learn more about this location and other hidden gems in NYC, check out our first travel video. The dense little island of Manhattan is packed with an almost frightening array of secrets - sometimes the best hidden gems may only be a few streets apart and you’ll still completely miss them. This has lead us to overnighting in a triple-decker treehouse, a converted prison and a school bus deep in the New Hampshire woods. There is something charming about all the comforts of home jumbled inside an impossible shell

USS Enterprise Stern Plate
We’d just had lunch at a local garlic knot themed restaurant (read more about that here) and were approached by some local youth, curious about our photography equipment. In a brief chat with them it was revealed that their area was famous for only two things: having a Wendy’s and being a hotspot for kidnapping. Determined that the town must have more than these two dismal qualities, we set out on a quest to find a third sight. What we discovered was a fascinating historic re
